How it works

It works with your process, not against it

MetaSphere was engineered around one commercial reality: ready-mix producers will not change their batching process. So it doesn't ask them to.

Introduced during batching

Beads are added during the cement-loading phase by silo, pneumatic truck, or, for trials, a super sack lifted into the drum. No pre-grinding.

Ground inside the drum

The truck rotates on high for at least 90 revolutions. The dense spheres pulverize completely and disperse into the paste fraction.

Verified, then poured

Washing a fresh sample over a 325-mesh sieve confirmed zero intact spheres remained, confirming the clay is fully reacting.

Proven in the field, not just the lab

Thomson Concrete Materials, a family-owned producer serving Central Georgia for more than 75 years, batched three 5-yard loads to a 4,000 psi target, each replacing 20% of cement with a different MetaSphere form factor. All three produced workable, finishable concrete and gained strength over the control.

Reactivity & Chemistry

Chapelle values of 1,350–1,450

Like other pozzolanic SCMs, MetaSphere is low in calcium but rich in silica and alumina. It consumes the portlandite (Ca(OH)₂) released during cement hydration to form additional C-S-H and C-(A)-S-H binder phases.

At 20% replacement, available portlandite can be substantially reduced or fully consumed, yielding excellent compressive strength alongside a meaningfully lower carbon footprint than a straight-cement mix. Our wet-cleaned feedstock is nearly 100% kaolin, which is what drives reactivity this high.

Form Factors

One material, three formats

Every form factor we field-tested made excellent concrete. The spherical bead is the commercial star; the others exist for specific handling needs.

Sphere

The flagship. Dense, free-flowing, ultra-low dust. Loads by silo or pneumatic truck and grinds completely in the drum.

Cracked Sphere

Pre-fractured beads that grind in as effectively as full spheres while needing slightly less added water.

Pulverized Powder

Traditional fine powder for lab work and applications that call for immediate dispersion without drum grinding.
